While packed with his most memorable moments as a beloved entertainer, the documentary shines brightest in its portrait of Candy as a devoted father, husband, and friend. Fountain of Youth (2025)

You can really tell that Fountain of Youth wants to be an Indiana Jones so bad… and yet it just fails miserably on every count. I’d say it falls in more with the National Treasure or 1999’s The Mummy… except if those were boring. Kinda expected better from Guy Ritchie, John Krasinski and Natalie Portman. The movie answers the question of what would a movie look like if a director just took the first take where the dialogue was audible and accurate. No eye on performance or tone, just words on a big expensive set. It was mindnumbing, and the story itself was predictable as heck… I can’t tell if they used AI to write this or if the writer was just dumb but most choices did not work. Everything about it from the people involved to the premise should have made for a decent time… and yet it somehow all fell flat. Makes Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny look like a masterpiece. Is it too much to ask for a good adventure movie in this day and age?

You can really tell that Fountain of Youth wants to be an Indiana Jones so bad… and yet it just fails miserably on every count. I’d say it falls in more with the National Treasure or 1999’s The Mummy… except if those were boring. Kinda expected better from Guy Ritchie, John Krasinski and Natalie Portman. The movie answers the question of what would a movie look like if a director just took the first take where the dialogue was audible and accurate. No eye on performance or tone, just words on a big expensive set. It was mindnumbing, and the story itself was predictable as heck… I can’t tell if they used AI to write this or if the writer was just dumb but most choices did not work. Everything about it from the people involved to the premise should have made for a decent time… and yet it somehow all fell flat. Makes Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny look like a masterpiece. Is it too much to ask for a good adventure movie in this day and age?
